Welcome to The Edison: A Venue with Heart, History, and a Touch of Magic

Nestled in a beautifully restored historic mill, The Edison is more than just a wedding venue—it's a place where history and modern celebration come together in perfect harmony. Located in a building recognized by the Department of the Interior and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this venue offers a glimpse into the past with its original hardwood floors and exposed beams, each telling a story of craftsmanship and legacy. With so much character in every corner, it’s the ideal place to host your special day and create new memories.

The Edison is the brainchild of Kate and Gray Goins, who, in the fall of 2021, opened Bar Nola next door. The two venues were designed to complement one another seamlessly, and it became clear that the next step in the journey was to create a dedicated event space. While Bar Nola quickly became known for hosting private events, it only made sense to bring those events to a space that could be tailored specifically for celebrations of all sizes, from intimate gatherings to grand occasions.

With a stunning aisle-like walkway, The Edison is a picture-perfect venue for weddings, offering a sense of grandeur that makes every ceremony feel extraordinary. But it doesn’t stop there. This versatile space can accommodate a wide range of events—everything from baby showers and engagement parties to corporate events, concerts, retirement parties, and beyond. With a capacity of up to 400 guests (and more!), there’s room for everyone you want to celebrate with. And when it’s time to step outside, our 2,000-square-foot deck offers a refreshing outdoor space complete with a bar and TVs, perfect for mingling and enjoying the moment.

The name "The Edison" carries a deep personal significance for Kate and her family. It’s a nod to her rich heritage, blending paternal Polish roots from New Orleans and the Mississippi Coast with her maternal German lineage. Kate’s great-great-grandfather and his brothers were master glassblowers in Germany, and their lives were forever changed when Thomas Edison himself reached out, asking them to help with the creation of the first light bulb. Their craftsmanship played a crucial role in bringing Edison’s vision to life, marking their family’s legacy in a very literal way—through light. It's a truly remarkable story of the American Dream and one that Kate is proud to carry forward as she welcomes you to The Edison.

At The Edison, we believe in celebrating both the history that has shaped us and the future that awaits. Whether you’re saying "I do," celebrating a milestone, or hosting an unforgettable event, we’re here to make it a moment you’ll never forget. Welcome to The Edison—where history, love, and new beginnings shine brightly.
